Post-mining guarantee: build the cost plan, then the placement schedule
Unlike reclamation, there is no standard cost per hectare here — the figure comes from a cost plan you build and the government approves. This page shows the components, their permitted ranges, a worked example, and the annual schedule.
The difference that matters
Reclamation: hectares × standards table. Post-mining: a cost plan with direct costs, indirect costs at permitted percentages, and the future value of money. Anyone who hands you one number for post-mining without asking about your programme has guessed.
1. What goes into the cost plan

Assumptions, not facts: direct costs and the bond rate are yours to set. The indirect percentages sit inside the permitted ranges; the future-value factor is (1 + rate)^years.
3. The placement schedule
Equal amounts every year, fully placed no later than two years before the production-operation permit ends — a 12-month time deposit at a government bank, rolled over automatically, with interest capitalised. Late placement is a finding.

5. What gets a cost plan rejected
- Direct costs with no unit basis (no quantity × price)
- Indirect percentages outside the permitted ranges
- No future-value calculation, or a rate that is not the government bond rate
- Schedule that finishes less than two years before the permit ends
- Programme not linked to the closure plan and the final void
